Our Story

​

“We met 4 years ago in an online adoptee space during the pandemic. Upon noticing María’s Ecuadorian flag in the background, we connected instantly & began sharing our stories. As our relationship developed, we thought of the benefits of creating a space for adoptees with ties to Latin countries like ourselves. Growing up, neither of us had this & it felt like the perfect time to create this space. Since then, we have fostered a space where our community can feel heard, validated & empowered. We are made up of 400+ community members with ties to 20 Latin countries, currently in 64 locations all over the world! Our passion & dedication to the adoptee community & your presence is what contributes to the sustainability of ASA.
